John Weddleton, President, convened meeting at
The legislative Call-in featured
Kevin Meyers and Con Bunde. Items discussed included POMV, school
funding, including the “formula”, and possible revenue options such as a ‘head
tax’, a tobacco tax,
an income tax or a sales tax.
They also discussed the three competing proposals for a gas line.
The Assembly Report by Dick
Tremaine discussed the upcoming bonds
proposals.
Dennis ___ of Anchorage Tomorrow
presented information on the Road Bonds.
Jeff Friedman presented
information on the School Bonds.
Dee Ford of the Library Advisory
Committee spoke about the Library Bond.
The replatting
of two lots between Our road and Klinger to form six
lots was discussed. The CC approved a
motion of non-objection to the replat pending
Platting Board approval, with a note that driveway access on the steep section
of Our Road might present a problem.
The Anchorage Roads Coalition made
a presentation on Context Sensitive Design, which focused on fitting roads to
their environment,
rather than modifying the environment to fit the road. Their contention is that smaller, slower,
more scenic roads can get the job done, with less intrusion into the
neighborhoods they are meant to serve.
They are asking for a motion of support at the April meeting.
